REPORT ON DRAMA FESTIVAL
This report reviews Gimnazija Jesenice Drama Festival, which took place on the 24th of November. It was organized by the students of Gimnazija Jesenice and all classes could attend or preform. The data is based on personal experience and the response of the audience.
VENUE
The entry was free, but there was a donation box available for donations. The theatre is quite small and therefore more chairs had to be brought in. Front row seats were reserved for the members of the jury who critiqued the plays.
PREFORMANCES
The plays were diverse and unique and well worth watching. According to the audience the best performance was Zlatolaska staged by 4.B class. It was relatable to students’own experiences and, overall, the most interesting one. The audience was extremely impressed and admired the students’ commitment.
AWARDS
After the last performance the audience were delivered ballot papers to vote for their favorite performance. The vote counting took quite some time and finally the winning performance was announced which, surprisingly, was the one by 4.A class – Spet ta Cankar.
CONCLUSION/RECOMMENDATIONS
All in all, Drama Festival was an enjoyable event and an interesting experience. I can hardly wait to see the next year’s plays. However, I would recommend introducing a longer break in the middle of the event and accelerating the vote counting.
