The purpose of this report is to summarize a recent Project Day that was held at our school. It took place on 15 November and was intended for elementary school 9th graders who are considering enrolling at our school. Three different activities took place that day.

Reception

Pupils who participated in the activities of the Project Day were invited to the event hall, where they attended the introductory programme and were addressed by Gimnazija Jesenice’s principal.

Young Athletes Day

Future young athletes had the opportunity to participate in the programme, where they were familiarized with some of the activities that take place at this school and which were presented by the teachers. They met the teachers and had the opportunity to try a wide variety of circus skills, tightrope walking, jumping on a special mat and even walking on stilts. Everyone was very impressed and satisfied with the activities and the coaches.

Young Researchers Day

This part of the day was mainly intended for the research-enthusiastic students. Who could take part in physical experiments, chemical experiments and even microscopy. They researched a wide variety of physical processes, discovered water characteristics and examined various specimens under the microscopes. According to students, the programme was very interesting and entertaining; the students were very enthusiastic and cooperative.

A day without the Internet

As part of this project, students had to think about what it would be like if there was no Internet. They had to try and solve problems without the help of the Internet. They used dictionaries to translate poems and even competed for the first translation. In math class, they used a very interesting old calculator and learned how to use it..

Summary/Opinion

The day was very interesting and entertaining for all visitors. The students’ feedback was very positive as they learned something new. It definitely inspired many and presented Gimnazija Jesenice well. I think that many pupils will decide to enroll and recommend our school to others. In my opinion, the Project Day was well organized and it served its purpose well, especially with regard to those pupils who were convinced that this Gimnazija was a very difficult school. Overall, the event was a great success.
